Intel's convertible classmate PC and Conference April 2nd

The convertible classmate PC is a fully functional laptop that can be converted from clamshell mode to a writing tablet with a variety of education-focused software applications designed to take advantage of this unique design (similar to your tablet pc's). The writing tablet is able to recognize handwriting, so notes are easily converted to digital letters and numbers. link
This is just another example of Intel’s long-term commitment to education.

  1. Excellent piece of equipment. I would like to spend more time with it. It would be interesting to see how someone uses it in the classroom. Maybe I'll look for a tutorial.

  2. Good Morning... the Classmate seemed like a nice piece technology to get kids excited and involved in their own education (as it needs to be done- using today's modern technologies/ trends). I liked how it was lightweight and durable. The swivel screen was cool too.

  3. As a classroom teacher I could see so many uses for this great piece of technology. Some immediate thoughts are to use with my students who finish classwork early and need some enrichment activities. Students who are having trouble with understanding a concept could use this for a tutorial session - students with organizational needs, etc...

  5. www.classmatepc.com/resource-center has a bunch of great information about the Classmate PC including user guides, product briefs, videos. I had a long discussion about it today with my Assistive Tech Coordinator and our Coordinator of Instructional Technology. We are going to try and get one on loan... wish us luck!
