All Things Considered, March 2, 2009 · Teachers know the blank stare. It can be hard to know what students are absorbing in class. Well, technology to the rescue.
More teachers are equipping their classrooms with little keypads — often called clickers — that let students instantly, and anonymously, answer questions. Teachers say the clickers are improving the quality of education by measuring how engaged students are in the material they are learning.

Lets try this again!!! I spent a half hour yesterday afternoon writing on this blog and posting all the things I had done as a followup to Saturday's class and when I pressed "post comment" it disappeared into cyber space never to be seen again. I was SO frustrated!!!
ReplyDeleteSo here is what I did YESTERDAY (Sunday)....
1.) I watched and downloaded several of the Itunes Podcasts to my Ipod. I like the fact that I can have them on my Ipod to listen to (and watch) over and over.
2.) I downloaded the Letterman Teachertube and put it into Smart Notebook. Then I sent it to school via file storage so I can share it with other teachers.
3.) I called my father and stepmother in Florida and told them all about Skype. They are going to sign up so we can Skype. Their laptop has a built in webcam.
4.) I spent almost 2 hours UNSUCCESSFULLY trying to make the Singapore Math interactive web site into my 3 SmartNotebook pages. I kept getting an error message asking me if I want to keep running scripts on this page then it would not let me click on yes or no Then the program would say "not responding" and it would turn into my desktop. Don't even try to ask me - PLEASE NO.........

5.) I watched some of the 2 minute tutorials again and took more detailed notes.
6.) Then ....I wrote all this on this blog and clicked post comment and I got a message that said something about a cache and cookies and I took that as my message from the cyber gods to get the heck off the computer.
SO....I showered, changed and took my niece to see Celtic Woman at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester. It was an AMAZING show (and very effective SMARTBoard stress reducer).
Hope you all enjoyed the nice weather and soaked up some Vitamin D!!!!!
Now...let's see if this will post today!!! If it disappears again...IT WAS NICE KNOWING Y'ALL!

Oh....I also spent about 30 minutes on Sunday trying to change the "mystery shadow picture" under followers to a real picture of me. If shows up in my blog edit but I can't get it to post under Paula Grier's smiling face - UUUUGGGHHHHH!!!!!!
